Fundi responds to an emerging need to promote the engagement of young people in their education, and to equip parents with the knowledge and skills to comfortably assist their children within the Australian framework by fostering social cohesiveness through a healthy and fully participating immigrant community.
The Fundi club’s initial goals were to “build flourishing, connected and cohesive African children, families, schools and community in Whittlesea,” however due to emerging societal trends, the program was expanded to include children of all migrant backgrounds. The Fundi Homework Club is funded by The Department of Education under the Victorian African Communities Action Plan (VACAP), Australian Communities Foundation (ACF), City of Whittlesea and Australian Drugs Foundation (ADF). Get in touch if you or someone you know would like to get involved.
